What is RGB?

RGB stands for Red, Green, and Blue. An image that is in RGB mode is optimized for display on a computer monitor. In order to reproduce that very same image using ink on paper, it must be converted to the "CMYK" color mode.

Red, Green, and Blue are "additive colors". If we combine red, green and blue light you will get white light. This is the principal behind the T.V. set in your living room and the monitor you are staring at now.

This makes proofing colors on a computer monitor difficult. There are two entirely different processes being used for making color, and they seldom match. RGB colors tend to look much more vibrant than printed CMYK. To ensure you know exactly what your finished printed piece will look like, have your printer provide a "print match" or some other form of proofing.
